Counts and records microbial colonies on culture plates.
Counts bacterial or fungal colonies on a culture plate, either by illuminated manual counting with a pen and audible tally, or automatically by image analysis. Automated counting removes the operator-to-operator variation that makes manual plate counts difficult to defend in an audit.
